“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.” – The Bhagavad Gita
In an age where distractions and stress have become an integral part of everyday life, yoga and
meditation offer a powerful means to cultivate balance, focus, and inner peace. With this
objective, a special meditation session on Sushumna Kriya Yoga was conducted at Sri Prakash
Vidyaniketan one of the Best Cambridge school in the city of Visakhapatnam for students by
renowned yoga practitioner Mrs. N. Sirisha Rudraraju introducing them to a timeless practice
that nurtures holistic well-being.
The session began with an introduction to the spiritual lineage behind Sushumna Kriya Yoga.
Students learned about the teachings of the immortal yogi Mahavatar Babaji, whose wisdom
has guided spiritual seekers for generations. They were also introduced to the ancient Siddhar
Bhognathar (Bhoganathar), a revered spiritual master known for preserving and transmitting
profound yogic knowledge. Their teachings continue to inspire seekers around the world.
Mrs. N. Sirisha further spoke about Pujyashri Aathmanandamayi Mataji, lovingly known as
Guruma or Amma, who carries forward this sacred tradition. Through her guidance, thousands
have embraced meditation and self-discovery as pathways to inner transformation. Her
teachings emphasize compassion, self-awareness, discipline, and the realization of one’s true
potential.
Explaining the significance of Sushumna Kriya Yoga, Mrs. Sirisha highlighted its numerous
benefits for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. She explained that regular practice
helps improve concentration, emotional stability, patience, self-confidence, and mental clarity. It
also promotes physical vitality and a positive outlook towards life, enabling students to cope
more effectively with academic and personal challenges.
A key message of the session was the importance of consistency. Students were encouraged to
devote 21 minutes daily to Sushumna Kriya Yoga and observe the positive changes that
naturally unfold over a period of 40 days. Mrs. Sirisha explained that regular practice can help
reduce stress, improve sleep quality, enhance energy levels, and create a greater sense of
inner harmony.
The session also emphasized the importance of self-reflection and introspection. Students were
encouraged to look within themselves, understand their thoughts and emotions, and develop
greater self-awareness. Meditation, she explained, is not merely a technique for relaxation but a
tool for personal growth and transformation. By cultivating mindfulness, students can strengthen
their decision-making abilities and develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the world
around them.
The programme concluded with a prayer for universal peace, harmony, and happiness.
Students were reminded that yoga is not merely a practice but a way of life that promotes
balance, wisdom, and compassion. By embracing the teachings of the great masters and
practicing Sushumna Kriya Yoga regularly, students can embark on a lifelong journey of self-
discovery, inner peace, and holistic well-being.
