Doctors Day

“Behind every patient who walks out healed,
is a doctor who never stopped believing they could.”

Doctors’ Day is a special occasion that reminds us of the selfless service, dedication, and
compassion of medical professionals who work tirelessly to keep society healthy. This year, Sri
Prakash Vidyaniketan one of the Best Cambridge school in Visakhapatnam turned its corridor into a
space of THANK YOU, as they celebrated Doctor’s Day with great enthusiasm and gratitude,
transforming the campus into a vibrant space filled with appreciation for these real-life heroes.
The celebrations began with students from Nursery, LKG, and UKG expressing their admiration for
doctors through catchy slogans and heartfelt messages. Their innocent voices echoed with phrases
such as “Doctors know the best,” “Doctors give us hope,” and “Doctors make miracles happen.”
Though simple, these slogans reflected the immense respect.
Adding to the excitement, UKG students staged a delightful role play in which they portrayed different
types of doctors and patients. Through their charming performances, the young learners showcased
the important role doctors play. Students from Grades I to III also participated enthusiastically by
dressing up as various medical specialists. Dressed in white coats and carrying stethoscopes, they
confidently posed for photographs, bringing the spirit of the occasion to life.
A major highlight of the celebration was an informative seminar conducted for students of Grades IV
and V by Dr. G. Harika, an accomplished medical professional. Dr. Harika, who completed her MBBS
and MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the
Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, shared
valuable insights with the students.
The one hour session began with the guest introduction and sapling presention. Dr. G Harika started
by speaking about Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, the renowned physician and visionary after whom
Doctors’ Day is celebrated in India. Dr. Harika then spoke about the importance of maintaining a
healthy lifestyle from a young age. She explained how the habits students develop today, form the
foundation of their future well-being. Her message was clear: good health is not achieved overnight
but through consistent healthy choices.
To make the session engaging, Dr. Harika showed students two important symbols associated with
the medical profession—a white coat, which she called her apron and a stethoscope. She explained
that these played a significant role in her life and encouraged students to understand the
responsibility and dedication they represent. Looking ahead, she motivated students to work hard in
their studies, cultivate discipline, and pursue their dreams with determination. She inspired aspiring
doctors to prepare sincerely for future competitive examinations, like NEET and reminded everyone
that success comes through perseverance and commitment.
The seminar also emphasized important values such as respecting parents and elders and confiding
in them, maintaining good habits, and striving to become responsible citizens. Dr. Harika’s
encouraging words left a lasting impression on the young audience.

The event concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session where students eagerly asked
questions about common health concerns such as headaches, hair fall, and stomach aches. Dr.
Harika patiently addressed each query, underlining the importance of healthy eating habits, less
screen time, making the session both educational and enjoyable.
Overall, Doctors’ Day celebration was a memorable experience that combined learning, creativity,
and gratitude. It not only honoured the medical fraternity but also inspired students to value health,
develop good habits, and dream of serving society in meaningful ways. The day ended on a joyful
note, leaving students informed, inspired, and deeply appreciative of the heroes in white coats.
